Future of Blogs

It's been interesting to see some of the edges of the blog and what is going on there. Here are some interesting sites and links:

  • TagCloud - Home. This takes a set of RSS feeds and then looks for keywords so you can in that sense have a "page rank" for RSS feeds. Words like Apple mentioned a lot get highlighted and it cuts across lots of RSS feeds to find all references to Apple.
  • Flickr. This was acquired by Yahoo, but pretty interesting idea that makes photo sharing an viewing simpler. Three years ago I started using PHP Gallery to do this, but it is lots of disk space. This is not a bad answer.
  • Onfolio. Just won PC Magazine Editors Choice. It's better apparently.

Comments

You should look at http://www.phanfare.com -- photosharing for the people who used to like Ofoto. Better uploading (they load up a small version instantly and save the big upload for later), better albums (no ads), and decent security (password single albums or a whole site).

I have no affiliation with them other than being a happy customer.
